$500 million "Ice Wall" to be constructed in Japan

JAPAN (WKOW) – Two years after a major nuclear accident in Japan, the government is still trying to deal with the aftermath.

The country's prime minister says his government is ready to spend almost half a billion dollars to try to contain radioactive water at the Fukushima plant.

Most of the money will be spent on new technology to try to freeze the area around the reactors or create an "ice wall" to prevent radioactive groundwater from leaking into the ocean.
