Motorcycle driver dies after being hit by drunk driver


TOWNSHIP OF BARABOO (WKOW) -- The driver of a motorcycle that was hit by a Jeep this weekend has died.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Office says Benjamin J. Brooks, 27, of Baraboo, was stopped at the intersection of Gall Road and Steinke Road around 9:00 p.m. Sunday, when a Jeep behind him did not stop, hitting his bike. The motorcycle was pushed into the intersection.

Investigators say Brooks and his passenger, Tory C. Frenzel, 23, of Baraboo were taken to the hospital. Brooks died from his injuries Monday night. Frenzel is still being treated for his injuries

The driver of the Jeep, Kevin Vaness, 22 or Baraboo, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, Causing Injury.
