Gov. announces special election to fill Suder's assembly seat


Madison (Press Release) – Governor Scott Walker announced a special election for the 69th State Assembly District.  The following is a timeline for the special election:

  • September 4, 2013 – Circulation of Nomination Papers Begins
  • September 24, 2013 – Circulation of Nomination Papers Ends
  • October 22, 2013 – Primary Election (If Necessary)
  • November 19, 2013 – Special Election Day

The special election follows the resignation of Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder (R–Abbotsford).  Representative Suder's resignation became effective at 5:00PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Per statute, the special election date for Representative Mark Honadel's seat (R-South Milwaukee) will be announced after his effective resignation date.
