The Compassionate Friends helps families cope with loss of child

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- It's about support and comfort for families who have experienced the death of a son or a daughter, a brother, a sister, or a grandchild, and it's called The Compassionate Friends.

The national organization helps families across the country cope with the loss of a child. The Madison Area Chapter helps families in our area.

On Saturday, September 14, the local TCF chapter will hold its annual Walk to Remember. The two mile walk begins at Vilas Park in Madison at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in participating can sign up that day.

The local chapter is holding another event on Monday, September 16. The organization is hosting award winning songwriter Alan Pedersen at Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church as part of his "Angels Across the USA Tour".

For more information on TCF Madison Area Chapter, go to its website.

TCF members Donna Knickmeyer and Barb Seth joined us on 27 News at 5 on Wednesday.
