UPDATE (WKOW) - Authorities identify the victim in the fatal Portage shooting as 21-year-old David Johnson of Pardeeville.

Portage Police Lt. Mark Hahn, says that 19-year-old Jordan Scott of Rio was arrested after the shooting and is jailed on the tentative charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide.

Hahn says the men had a recent heated dispute at the workplace. Authorities say as Johnson arrived for work Thursday, Scott was waiting for him, confronted him, and opened fire.

PORTAGE (WKOW) - Authorities say a victim was shot and killed behind businesses in a Portage strip mall Thursday morning.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

Pionke says workers at businesses in that area are witnesses to the shooting.

Pionke declined to comment on what may have motivated the shooting.
