Illegal fire sparked one of largest fires in CA history

Posted:

California (WQOW) - Authorities say a hunter's illegal campfire sparked a massive blaze still burning in northern California when it got out of control.

They also say there's no indication the hunter was involved in any kind of illegal marijuana growing, despite rumors to the contrary.

The hunter has been identified, but his name has not been made public and he has not been arrested.

The Rim Fire, which has burned into Yosemite National Park, is one of the largest wildfires in California's history.
