MILWAUKEE, WI -- SURG Restaurant Group announced today in a press release that it has decided to end its business relationship with Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun.
SURG plans on keeping Graffito, located in Milwaukee's 3rd Ward, open until the end of the year "to honor its pre-existing obligations to its customers and employees."
SURG will change the name of 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill, located in Brookfield, Braun's restaurant co-owned with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as the planned 8-Twelve restaurant at Bayshore Town Center.
Braun said in a press release from SURG that he supported the company's decision and wished the best of luck to the SURG Restaurant Group.
Braun is under suspension by Major League Baseball for violations of the joint drug prevention and treatment program.
Brewers COO Rick Schlesinger confirmed Braun spent Thursday personally calling season ticket holders to apologize. Schlesinger said it was Braun's idea to make the calls to fans.
