COPY-Organizers hope memorial service will curb future domestic violence

Hundreds of people attended a memorial for a woman prosecutors said was a victim of domestic violence.

Officials said Panhia Vue was murdered in her Altoona home June 11th.

Police later arrested her husband in Marathon County and he was charged in her death.

Organizers of the memorial service said they want to honor Vue and use the event to prevent domestic violence for others.

"It's both open to Hmong and non-Hmong to talk about the issue of domestic violence and violence in our community in general," said Tou Ger Bennett Xiong.

Vue had 7 children ranging in age from 8 months to 20-years-old.

A fund is set up to help them through The Women's Community in Wausau.
