GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Packer fans now have the opportunity to view just one more piece of Packer history.
Mary Jane Sorgel, an 80-year-old former Green Bay cheerleader from Sturgeon Bay, told Press-Gazette Media that she still has 24 personal letters from the late Packers coach Curly Lambeau. Sorgel plans on putting the handwritten letters up for auction.
Lambeau had apparently hoped to marry Sorgel before he died of a heart attack in 1965. Lambeau also mentions in the earlier letters a conversation he had with Vince Lombardi about what had been the upcoming 1965 football season.
Sorgel's letters are worth an estimated $1,000 each.
