U.S. Congressman disagrees with governor on slow job creation

Eau Claire (WQOW)- A U.S. Congressman disagrees with the governor on the reason why Wisconsin hasn't been keeping up with the national average when it comes to job creation.

Governor Walker has said employers have told him that they aren't hiring more people right now is because they are uncertain how they will be affected by the Affordable Care Act.  Representative Ron Kind says that is just politician speak. He blames another reason for the lack of job creation.

"The thing that is holding back business expansion and job growth is people walking through the door and purchasing their products.  We've got to figure out a way to revitalize and strengthen the middle class in this country again so we are not leaving anyone behind," says Kind.  "And when the consumers don't have the disposable income, not as many products are being purchased and therefore, businesses just can't hire."

If Wisconsin would have kept up with the national hiring pace, reports show the state would have added 33,000 more jobs.
