Suspected bank robber faces federal charges in 5 robberies

Menomonie (WQOW) - Federal charges have now been filed against the woman suspected of robbing two banks in western Wisconsin.

Ranya Hamad Al-Huthaili is now charged with last week's robbery of the Dairy State Bank in Menomonie. Prosecutors say she passed a note to the teller with words to the effect of "I have a gun."

They say she fled with more than $2,300. But some of that cash was in the form of marked bills. Federal agents say they later followed the woman to a Minnesota mall, where she bought a laptop computer using some of the marked money.

After she was arrested, investigators say she admitted to robbing the Menomonie bank, as well as one in Hudson several days earlier. She is also suspected in three Minnesota bank robberies.
