MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin volleyball team will open its home season this weekend, hosting the 22-nd annual InnTowner Invitational.
The team is undefeated with a 6-0 record in week two. The Badgers are ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2008, at No. 25.
First-year coach Kelly Sheffield has led an injury-plagued group to a great start on the road.
"It's week two, so you don't get too excited about a ranking in week two," said Sheffield. "You put your energies and excitement into getting better, and that's kind of where everything is. So, we're headed in the right direction, but we've got a long ways to go."
Wisconsin will play Kansas (4-2), Milwaukee (3-3) and Bowling Green (1-4) in the round-robin tournament which runs Friday through Saturday.
The Badgers are 30-7-2 in 39 home openers.
