Child drowns in Sauk Co.


SAUK COUNTY (WKOW) -- A 2-year-old boy has drowned in Sauk County. Officials say it happened at the residence of an Amish family in Washington Township at 3:10 pm Saturday afternoon.

Officials say the boy lived at the farm and was playing outside with his mother when she suddenly lost site of him. The mother found the young boy moments later floating face down in a water tank.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner's Office.

Sauk County Sheriff's Deputies, Hillpoint First Responders, and Reedsburg Ambulance Service responded to the scene. The child's name is not being released at this time.
