Volunteer tutors needed in the Chippewa Valley

Eau Claire (WQOW)- It's a simple request; patience and a couple of hours each week. Your time could make a very big difference for someone struggling to read and write.

Literacy Volunteers of the Chippewa Valley is looking for volunteer tutors. Right now13 adults are on a waiting list and the non-profit only expects that list to grow. One of the reason is this, fall is not just back to school time for kids, it's a time when adults need extra help as well. The non-profit says parents of students want to be able to understand the materials that are coming home with their kids.

Volunteers must have a high school diploma, pass a background check and complete a training course.  You can find more information about becoming a volunteer here
