Two injured in morning crash in Barron County


Barron County (Press Release) - On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 7:45 a.m., the Barron County Sheriff's Department received a report of a crash on Highway 25 at 18th Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a Freightliner truck driven by Gary Hanna, 56, of Shell Lake, was traveling eastbound on 18th Avenue and failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 25 and crossed in front of a southbound Ford Escort driven by Lance Peterson, 25, of Rice Lake. Both drivers were transported by Mayo Ambulance for unknown injuries.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff's Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Mayo Ambulance and Barron Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.
