Local company fined by OSHA for employee's death

Altoona (WQOW) - A local firm has received numerous citations for safety violations after the death of one of its workers.

James Bridges of Eau Claire died in June after falling off an apartment complex under construction in Altoona. Police said he fell about 10 feet and landed on concrete.

Now, OSHA has issued 10 citations with fines totaling more than $15,000 to C&E Wurzer Builders. OSHA says the company did not provide any fall-protection system, or training to  workers on how to prevent falls.

The company has 10 days to contest the penalties.
