LANCASTER (WKOW) -- The man accused of going on a multi-county crime spree that started with a stabbing in Madison appears in Grant County Circuit Court Friday morning.
James Kruger, 36, of Madison, is charged in Grant County with repeat attempt to flee an officer, repeat attempt of armed robbery, two counts of pointing a firearm at another, strangulation, misdemeanor battery, repeat discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, repeat taking of hostages, and eight counts of felony bail jumping.
Kruger reportedly led police on a chase through multiple counties September 10, after taking a hostage and stealing vehicles along the way. He was originally wanted in Madison for stabbing a man.
This week, Kruger was indicted by a federal grand jury on a felony charge of possession of firearms.
In Grant County Friday morning, Kruger's bond was set at $500,000 for the charges there. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 25.
