9/23 Daybreak Interview: Hike for the Homeless

Posted:

(Beacon House) - Last night you probably slept in your own bed in your own home or apartment.  Today you woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast and went about your day.  Unfortunately, many families in the Eau Claire area don't have this luxury. For these families, "home" is a car, tent, or the floor or couch of a friend.

The downturn in the economy has affected everyone.  As a result, the demand for Eau Claire Interfaith Hospitality's services has increased.

      During 2012:
  • 41 families received shelter
  • 51 adults received shelter
  • 81 children received shelter
  • 5,915 nights of shelter were provided at Beacon House
  • 8,401 volunteer hours were provided
  • 16, 908 meals were served
We are truly a team effort requiring the combined talents of our staff, volunteers, congregations and board of directors. Each day of the year, volunteers provide meals and personal attention to those using the shelter.
Join us in our efforts to support the work of this great non-profit organization.  Know your efforts are helping local families in need of assistance.
