2 people escape overnight fire in Sun Prairie


SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Two people escaped their burning home Tuesday morning after being woken up by their smoke detector.

Dane County Communications says a call for a structure fire on Colony Circle in Sun Prairie came in just after 3 a.m. Several area fire departments responded including Sun Prairie, DeForest, Marshall and the city of Madison.

When they arrived on scene, officials said flames were visible through the roof. The two people home were able to make it out safely, and no injuries have been reported.

No word yet as to what caused the fire, or how much damage it caused.
