Gluten free Girl Scout cookies coming to Wisconsin

MADISON (WKOW) --- The first gluten free cookie is coming out for the Girl Scouts winter sale.

Only a few select areas in the U.S. will test out the cookie next year.

Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland council will be one of the areas to add it.

The council tells 27 News that only a limited amount of them will be available, and it is up to the troops to decide to participate.

The gluten free cookie will be the Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Shortbread.

Girl Scout cookie sales begin February 9, 2014.  Normally the sale takes place in the Fall, but this year it will take place later into next year.

Here is some information from the Girl Scouts website.
