'Barktoberfest' helps Custom Canines Service Dog Academy

MADISON (WKOW) -- October is going to the dogs, literally, with the Custom Canines Service Dog Academy's 'Barktoberfest.'

Custom Canines is a non-profit organization of dedicated, volunteer professionals and individuals who work to custom train service dogs for people with disabilities.

An event in early October will help find service dogs for those who need them.

"Barktoberfest' takes place on Saturday, October 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It's sponsored by Sprecher's Restaurant and Pub and Erin's Snug Irish Pub. Cost is free, but 10 percent of all sales will be donated to Custom Canines Service Dog Academy.

It will be at Sprecher's on 1262 John Q. Hammons Drive in Madison.
