Bomb threat investigated at Barron High School


Barron (Press Release) - On Friday, October 11, 2013, at about 10:00 a.m., the Barron Police Department was advised of a bomb threat written on the wall inside the high school.

The Barron Police Department, Barron Fire Department and the Barron County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. An extensive search of the high school was conducted by law enforcement, fire personnel and school staff. The school was ruled safe at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Other schools in the Barron District were placed on preventative lock down but the threat was specific to the high school.

Students were brought back to the school at 1:15 p.m. and school remained in session until the end of the day.
