Durand man attacked in home

Eau Claire (WQOW)- Police in Durand say a man was attacked and beaten so badly that officers who knew the victim didn't even recognize him

Three suspects are now charged with Tuesday's attack.

Police say they broke into the victim's home and beat him throughout the residence using metal and wooden broom handles. They also allegedly threatened to come back and kill him if he called police.

The victim had to be airlifted to an Eau Claire hospital with severe injuries to his head, face and upper body.

Police say the suspects also stole several items from the home, which were later recovered.

Police are still investigating the motive for the incident.  They say the victim and attackers knew each other.
