Eau Claire (WQOW) - Here in Wisconsin, fall usually means turning in your beach towels for jeans and flannels. While the cooling temperatures might mean your trips to the lake are numbered, there are still plenty of outdoor entertainment options for the family this fall.
One of those places is the Schultz's Country Barn in Eleva. "This is my favorite time of year when there are lots of children around," says owner Carlene Schultz. "We have a big six-acre corn maze and besides that, we have the petting zoo.
A little closer to Eau Claire at Ferguson's Orchards, there is something for everyone. "We like to call it ‘Agri-Entertainment,"' according to owner Andy Ferguson. "Spending a beautiful fall day picking some apples and then we also have things like a corn maze and a petting zoo, wagon rides and a haunted house which is great this time of year."
Jeanne Cooper brought a group of children from Noah's Ark Preschool to Ferguson's. "Fall is such a great time to be outside with children and to come to the apple orchard where this morning, we saw a pheasant running down the road," says Cooper. "Just to see the seasons is such an experience for preschool children. This is a lovely place to bring children and it's so safe."
