Green Bay man arrested for choking Madison woman

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called to a Langdon Street apartment Saturday night for the report of a battery.

26-year-old Alexander Koprowski, of Green Bay, had kicked in the door to a 22-year-old female acquaintance's apartment and choked her until she became unconscious.

The victim stated Koprowski threatened to kill her.  Not only did he strangle her, he threw her to the floor and smashed her head down several times.  Koprowski also threw her laptop against a desk, ruining it.

Officers were able to catch up with Koprowski at a N. Carroll Street parking ramp.

The victim sustained neck injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Koprowski was arrested for impeding breathing by pressure on throat or neck, false imprisonment, battery, and criminal damage to property.
