Eau Claire (WQOW) -- For the first time since 1965, the UW-Eau Claire football team will play a Friday game, when the Blugolds will go to 10th-ranked UW-Whitewater.
UWEC is still searching for its first win of the season. Four of the Blugolds five losses have been to ranked teams, while the fifth, UW-Stevens Point, is now getting votes after winning at Carson Park, Saturday.
It won't be any easier this week, as the Blugolds haven't beaten the Warhawks since 2002.
"You know, it's a different deal, it's a night game, it's kind of like we're in high school again," says UW-Eau Claire head coach Todd Glaser, "but they're a very good team, they're running the football well, they're passing well, they're very good on defense, and they won't hurt themselves, like other good teams that we've played, so we're going to have to go out there and play really good football."
UW-Whitewater is coming off a 55-13 home win over UW-Stout.
The Blue Devils have their homecoming game this Saturday against UW-La Crosse. It's a 1:00 P.M. kickoff at Williams Stadium.
