Oconto County man convicted of 2 counts of homicide

MADISON (WKOW) -- An Oconto County jury has convicted Daniel Lee Schmidt of two counts of first degree intentional homicide.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced this morning the conviction came Thursday night in the May 2009 deaths of Kimberly Rose and her brother, Lenoard Marsh.  The two were fatally shot in their home, near Gillett.

Prosecutors argued Schmidt had motives to kill Rose; to keep her from disclosing his marijuana grow and to keep her from disrupting his marriage.  Marsh was staying with his sister at the time of the murders.
Sentencing for Schmidt is scheduled for November 26th.
