Fallen Marine laid to rest on Saturday in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- It was an emotional ceremony in Milwaukee Saturday as a fallen Marine was laid to rest.

19-year-old Lance Cpl. Jeremiah Collins Jr. was killed in Afghanistan 11 days ago.

Fellow Marine Brian Harris went through training with Collins, who became an intelligence specialist with the Marine Corps.

Harris says Collins could always make you laugh, even on those tougher days in the service.

"He was always the funny guy, always seemed to lighten up the classroom environment," Harris said.

Collins death was classified as "non-hostile" by the U.S. Department of Defense.

He leaves behind his parents and six siblings.
