UPDATE: Waunakee woman killed in Columbia Co. crash


TOWN OF PACIFIC (WKOW) -- Authorities say a Waunakee woman is dead after a crash in Columbia County.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, a car and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Highway 51/16 and County Highway P in the town of Pacific, which is just outside of the city of Portage. It happened around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Authorities say the 53-year-old woman driving the car was pronounced dead on scene. A 9-year-old girl was a passenger and was taken to the hospital, along with a dog who was injured. 

The 47-year-old man driving the pickup truck was also hurt, but is expected to be OK.

Officials say neither alcohol nor speed contributed to the crash. It remains under investigation.


TOWN OF PACIFIC (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one person was pronounced dead at the scene in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning near Portage.

Around 11:15 a.m.  on October 20th, an accident happened in the median on Highway 51 and County Highway P in the Town of Pacific.

The left lane was closed in both directions at Highway 51 and Highway 16 at County P for about three hours.
