Altoona Family Restaurant to donate 100% of sales Monday

Altoona (WQOW)- Cops will wait on diners at the Altoona Family Restaurant Monday.

It's all to raise money for the 'Kids N Cops' program. Eau Claire law enforcement officers will serve food and coffee and clean tables from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday night. The restaurant is donating 100 percent of the day's sales to the program. Kids in need are paired up with a cop, then they pick a date and go shopping.

"They take a group of needy kids, and they take them shopping for boots, winter coats, whatever that family may need," explains Wendy Johnson, who works at the restaurant.

Together, the Altoona Family Restaurant and area officers were able to raise $7,000 dollars last year for the 'Kids N Cops' program.
