Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The WIAA football playoffs begin on Friday. Our area sends two teams into the division one field, although only one will make it to Level Two.
In Level One, Hudson plays host to Eau Claire Memorial. The Old Abes have been in playoff mode for some time, winning their final three games to get into the second season. Now, they must knock off the Big Rivers Conference's best team to keep their season going. Head coach Paul Kling says these are two teams that know each other well.
"It's like an extension to our conference schedule when we play a conference team in the playoffs. But there's been a lot of things we've changed and they've changed since we last played. But it's still the same Hudson team: very disciplined, very physical, very big, very athletic; and that's what we expect," says Kling.
Eau Claire Memorial and Hudson meet Friday at Newton Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
