One person hospitalized after truck vs. bicycle accident in Dane County


TOWN OF VIENNA (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies were called to a truck vs. bicycle crash shortly after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened on State Highway 113, just south of County Highway V in the town of Vienna. 

The investigation reveals a FedEx truck was traveling northbound on Hwy. 113, attempting to pass a bicyclist, when the bicyclist suddenly swerved in front of the truck.  20-year-old Mickel Paulson, of Waunakee, was transported to the hospital, by Waunakee EMS, with non-life threatening injuries.  The truck driver, 51-year-old Dean Cossette, of Madison, was not injured.

Deputies are still investigating as to why Paulson swerved.  No citations have been issued at this time.
