Man arrested after allegedly threatening couple with gun

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Police surrounded an apartment building after a man allegedly threatened to shoot another man.  No one was hurt and the suspect was arrested.

It all started at about 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Hobart and Wisconsin streets.  A couple said they were approached by a man with a gun and he who allegedly threatened them.  They saw the suspect go into an apartment building.  Police later saw him throw something out his window.  The man then surrendered.  Police searched the apartment, and found a BB gun.

"They were very frightened and thought that he was still after them. They saw him enter this building and they were very scared for everyone here as well. They made sure our door was locked," Lynn Roberts says, who was working at Cost Cutters when the couple ran inside.

Police say the items the man threw out the window were drug-related.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstruction and for drug-related charges.  The entire incident was resolved within 30 minutes.
