JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police arrest a suspect during an investigation of residential burglaries in Janesville.

Janesville Police Department says a burglary happened 11:45 p.m. on Friday on the 4300 block of Prairie Fox Drive and Wildrose Way.  The suspect entered the house and stole a purse.  When the homeowner saw the burglar, the burglar ran away.

A second burglary was attempted, but the suspect could not get inside the home.

Later, around 2 a.m., officers were called back to the block when a third person reported a burglary.  The homeowner chased the suspect out of the house, and after a physical confrontation, the homeowner held the suspect until police arrived.

The Janesville Police Department would like to remind citizens to be vigilant in watching their neighborhoods for suspicious activity.
