Funeral held for slain Wisconsin native Kira Trevino

WAUSAU (WKOW) -- More than a hundred people gathered in Wausau Saturday, to pay respects to a Wisconsin native killed in Minnesota.

Family and friends held a funeral for 30-year-old Kira Trevino. She was last seen alive in February and her body was recovered from the Mississippi River in May.

Her husband, Jeffrey Trevino was found guilty of Unintentional Second Degree Murder.

Kira's family says it will be hard to move forward but they say this is a big step in the healing process.
