UPDATE: One suspect in custody for Spaight St. robbery


MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison Police Department Sergeant came upon a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in a robbery early in the morning on Spaight Street.

The vehicle was parked in an east side neighborhood.  Contact was then made with the owner, who identified the driver in the robbery as Jeremiah Harris, age 18.

Police then went and made contact with Harris, who did confess to driving the vehicle at the time of the robbery.  Harris was interviewed and booked into the Dane County Jail for being party to a crime, armed robbery.


MADISON (WKOW) -- The victim in an overnight robbery chases the suspects.

According to the Madison Police Department, a robbery happened about 3:00 a.m. on the 900 block of Spaight Street. A 27-year-old man was walking when he was approached by two suspects who asked if he had a cell-phone. The victim told the suspects he did not.

According to the Madison Police Department, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and put it to the victim's head and then started to go through the victim's pockets. The victim felt the gun was fake so he grabbed it and chased the suspects who ran away to a waiting car. The car then drove off.

The victim was not injured.

Police say they're looking for two black men about 6 feet tall. The suspects weigh about 200 pounds and were wearing dark clothing.
