Donate old electronics to help Dane Co. Humane Society

Posted:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Technology changes, we get a new phone or tablet, and the old ones pile up.

If you don't want those electronics to end up in a landfill, plenty of other people could use them. There's a way to donate them, and help local animals at the same time.

An organization called "Give Back Phones" is collecting smartphones, laptops, mp3 players, gaming systems, digital cameras and tablets, and paying the Dane County Humane Society for each collected item.

Collection bins will be set up at the following locations:
Badger Fitness 4102 Lien Rd & 2040 S Stoughton Rd
Cafe Zoma 2326 Atwood Ave
Colectivo Coffee 25 South Pinckney St
Dane County Humane Society 5132 Voges Rd
Dog Haus 410 Atlas Ave
Espresso Royal Lower State Street 650 State St
EVP Coffee West 3809 Mineral Point Rd
Ford's Gym 2114 Winnebago St
Jenny Street Market 2038 Jenifer St
Potbelly Sandwich Shop 4833 Annamark Dr
Willy Street Co-op East 1221 Williamson St & West 6825 University Ave

All of the following items will be accepted in working or broken condition:
  • Smartphones (all brands, broken screens are accepted)
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Mp3 Players
  • Digital Cameras
  • Gaming Systems and Handheld Devices
