DNR urges Halloween revelers to go green

MADISON (AP) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is urging Halloween revelers to go green this year.

The agency suggests using natural decorations such as gourds, pumpkins and cornstalks as well turning to recycled paper to make window decorations such as spiders, pumpkins or witches' hats.

The DNR also says people should consider building their own costumes or purchasing thrift-store costumes and using reusable bags for collecting treats. Parents should let trick-or-treaters walk from house to house rather than driving them to reduce air pollution and fuel consumption.
