Elmwood (WQOW) - An art teacher can go back to the drawing board armed with more supplies.
Royal Credit Union and Eau Claire's Own News 18 presented a $300 check to the Elmwood art teacher today. Katie Knegendorf applied for the Tools for Schools grant. She said the money will help pay for more supplies and storage. "Arts are found all around them, it's in everything that we do, from the clothes that they wear to the advertisements, to the TV shows that they watch. That's one thing I try to teach in the classroom is, the careers in art, not just making drawings and paintings, that these things can be taken beyond the classroom," said Knegendorf.
Tools for Schools is a partnership between Royal Credit Union and our station. We are taking nominations for the next $300 award. Click here if you'd like to apply. Also, Royal Credit Union and Eau Claire's Own News 18 are thrilled to announce a special $1,000 award will be given in December to mark our two-year anniversary of Tools for Schools.
