Company to manufacture rifles in Rice Lake

Rice Lake (WQOW) - An announcement this week will mean added jobs in Rice Lake.

Henry Repeating Arms, a leading rifle manufacturer in New Jersey, said it will begin making rifles in Rice Lake next year.  The company bought a facility in Rice Lake seven years ago.  It supplied the company with many components used in Henry models.  Right now, more than 100 people work at the Rice Lake plant.

Anthony Imperato, president and owner of the company said in a statement this week, "I am proud of what we've accomplished in Wisconsin by saving jobs, adding jobs, and creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. I decided to expand our operations here because of the outstanding job our employees do to help us meet increased demand."

Eau Claire's Own News 18 reached out to ask how many new jobs will be created, but we haven't heard back.
