MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team opened the 2013-2014 season with an exhibition win over UW-Platteville, 80-51, at the Kohl Center Wednesday night.
The Badgers started off slow, only leading the Pioneers by seven at the half.
The veterans led the way in the second half, senior guard Ben Brust leading the team in scoring with 20 points. Sophomore forward Sam Dekker had 13 points.
Freshman Nigel Hayes tallied eight points and six boards, including five offensive rebounds.
All 15 active players saw the floor.
The Badgers will travel to Sioux Falls, ND to open the regular season against St. John's on November 8.
