Calendar parking goes into effect tonight

Eau Claire (WQOW) - It is that time of year again, time to start watching where you park in Eau Claire.  Calendar parking rules go into effect tonight.

Drivers must park on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd days, and the even-numbered side on even days.  The parking rules are in effect between midnight and 7 A.M. through May 1st of 2014.  The purpose is to make it easier for snow-plows to keep the streets clear.

"It's the same as every other year, but we always have questions," according to Kyle Roder of the Eau Claire Police Department.  "What people need to remember is the new day starts at midnight.  So at midnight, on Friday morning, November 1st the calendar parking goes into effect."

Police say warnings may be given for the first couple of days, but after that, $30 tickets will be issued.
