War On 94 Review

Menomonie (WQOW) -- The War on 94 trophy changed hands Saturday, with UW-Stout topping UW-Eau Claire to snap a two-game losing streak to the Blugolds.

Eau Claire's offense actually out gained the Blue Devils, but could not match them on the scoreboard. Coach Todd Glaser says mental errors cost the Blugolds on Saturday.

"We can't have those penalties to keep drives alive, we can't have those valleys," says Glaser. "You can't win in this league doing that. Our seniors have worked extremely hard throughout their careers, they're going to continue to work hard. We're going to come back on Monday and work hard and give it our best shot next Saturday."

As for Stout, Saturday's win snaps a five-game losing streak. Coach Clayt Birmingham says he's proud of his team for holding off a late rally from the Blugolds.

"I think the resiliency of our offense to keep putting up points was huge. Our defense kind of got scored on, but our offense came right back and kept them in that hole. So a lot of credit to our offense," says Birmingham.
