Wisconsin sheriffs look to expand Internet stings

GREEN BAY (WKOW) – Investigators in northeast Wisconsin want to expand Internet stings after a recent operation caught more than a dozen child sex predators.

WBAY-TV reports the October sting called "Operation Black Veil" resulted in 16 arrests in six counties.

Jim Valley, of the Door County Sheriff's Department, says the number of arrests could be looked at as a sign that the operation is successful or an indicator that more needs to be done to address the issue.

Investigators say the recent sting was the first to include weekend.  Valley thinks future stings should run at least seven days.

Brown County Sheriff John Gossage says he is looking at ways to add more officers to the multi-agency operation in the future.
