Victim identified in Iowa County car crash


IOWA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The victim in a fatal car crash has been identified.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened on Tuesday morning on County Road ID. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Devin Emberson of Middleton.

His 1996 Honda Accord was traveling east bound on County Road ID and he went off the left or north side of the road, driving up an embankment and going airborne before rolling over and hitting a tree.

Emberson was pinned in the car and pronounced dead at the scene by the Iowa County deputy coroner.

Emberson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. A high rate of speed was a factor in the crash. It is not known at this time if alcohol was a factor.

The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
