St. Mary's makes list of Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital

MADISON (WKOW) -- St. Mary's Hospital announced Wednesday it has been named one of the nation's 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics, a company that provides info and solutions for improving healthcare cost and quality.
Truven evaluated hospital performance in several key areas: risk-adjusted mortality, risk-adjusted complications, percentage of coronary bypass patients with internal mammary artery use, 30-day mortality rates, 30-day readmission rates and wage and severity-adjusted average cost.
The evaluation has been conducted annually since 1999.
"St. Mary's is proud to deliver exceptional patient care that is nationally recognized as high quality and cost competitive," Craig Sommers, St. Mary's Vice President of Cardiac Services, said in a written statement.

The winning hospitals were announced in the November 4th edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
