MPD releases sketch of sexual assault suspect

MADISON (WKOW) -- Early Sunday morning, a 22-year-old female contacted Madison police to report a sexual assault.

The woman stated the assault happened to her outside in the 300 block of W. Wilson Street.  She had met a man while socializing in the downtown area and they went into a bar together.  She states he later attacked and assaulted her.

Since the initial report, the victim indicated the assault happened in a secluded parking lot in the 300 block of E. Wilson Street.  She also stated he may have been wearing rimless glasses.

The victim also reported the man convinced her to go into the lot as she was looking for a friend's car.  During the crime, she believes she may have injured the suspect.  She suffered minor injuries and had been taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.

The victim has provided information to a MPD sketch artist and a rendering is now included with this release.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Madison Area Crimestoppers at 266-6014.
