Update on fatal snowmobile crash investigation in Osceola

Osceola (WQOW) - More information has been released about the investigation into a fatal snowmobile crash during a training course.  Police do not believe there was a mechanical problem with the sled.

It happened last month in Osceola.  Sarah Thorsland died.  She was 13 years old. She was taking part in a safety class at the Osceola High School.

Her snowmobile suddenly accelerated and hit a loading dock.  The Department of Natural Resources says there were about 40 kids in the class and half had already been on the sled that Sarah used and no problems had been reported.

Police say all indications are the accident was caused by human error.
