Jackson Schmidtke

Jackson Schmidtke joined Eau Claire's Own WQOW News 18 in October 2013 as news reporter. He was a news intern at WQOW during the summer of 2012 and a sports intern during the fall of 2010. He also had internship experiences at our sister stations WAOW in Wausau and KSTP in the Twin Cities.
Jackson is originally from Wausau and is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire. During his time in college he worked at the student run television station TV10 as a sports reporter, show host, creative director and station manager. He was awarded two Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Student Awards for Excellence for his work in school.
Jackson loves the Eau Claire area and is looking forward to telling even more of your stories. In his spare time Jackson enjoys traveling, cheering on his favorite sports teams which include the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and West Ham United as well as cooking up all sorts of food in the kitchen.
