Protesters cited at Rep. Ryan's Racine office

RACINE (WKOW) -- A dozen protesters were cited for blocking a street outside U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan's office Friday.

The 12 Racine women were demonstrating to call on Ryan to work for speedy immigration reform and to stop deportations.

The Journal Times reports the women sat in the middle of the road in front of the Janesville Republican's downtown Racine office.

Police blocked off the road and allowed the women to address a crowd of several dozen.

The protest lasted about an hour until the women willingly moved out of the street.

The protest was organized by the Milwaukee-based immigrant rights group Voces de la Frontera.
